Outside Sales Representative

We are currently seeking a dynamic self-motivated Outside Sales Representative who is passionate about aviation and interested in expanding their skills alongside a great team. They will help Avenger by contacting new customers and developing relationships to grow landing gear sales accounts.

Position Details

  • Work is full-time and majority remote, but with regular travel requirements and periodic visits to the Avenger warehouse in Springfield, VA.
  • Develop sales opportunities by researching and soliciting potential new accounts, building rapport, and providing technical information or initial quotes.
    • NOTE: This may include regular, in-person site visits to key current and potential customers across the United States. This is typically 1 week of travel every 1-2 months.
  • Own the relationship with key customers to ensure satisfaction and find new ways to provide or expand services. This may include email, phone, or in-person communication.
    • Will work with the Insides Sales Representative or Quality Control Manager to provide quotes and information to other customers.
  • Assess competitors by analyzing and summarizing information and trends, and identifying new ways to expand our customer base.
  • Continually refine your sales process and procedures to improve Avenger brand experience and customer success.

Note: Avenger will train you for any specific processes or skills you may not currently have, with regular support from both owners.

Applicant Requirements

  • 3-4 years of aviation sales or similar experience
  • Technical knowledge of the airline aftermarket
  • Ability to read Component Maintenance Manuals (CMMs) and technical papers such as Service Bulletins or blueprints
  • Good understanding of modern computer skills (i.e., email, Excel, LinkedIn, Word, etc.)
  • Excellent written and spoken communication skills, needed to respond to sales inquiries and maintain business relationships
  • Preferred applicants may also have:
    • Existing airline customers or relationships they can bring to Avenger
    • Experience with inventory programs like ILS, ARMS, LogMro, or similar ERP programs
    • A&P License or military counterpart

Benefits Details

  • Salary range is $50,000 – $75,000 annually, with some discretionary bonuses
  • Health insurance provided at no cost (within monthly limit)
  • No 401k available
  • 2 weeks of vacation allowed after 90-day evaluation period. Increases to 3 weeks per year after 5 years.
    • Paid leave is provided the week between Christmas and New Year in addition to vacation days
